Long overdue pictures and stories

So much news!

We're very excited to share that we're working with Huntington Homes, http://huntingtonhomesvt.com/
out of East Montpelier, and that we have preliminary floorplans and a tentative delivery week!

The original floorplans for the Ryback Cape can be found here: http://huntingtonhomesvt.com/homes/the-ryback-cape/

The biggest changes we've made are turning the downstairs bathroom into a half bath, removing the porch, adding a deck off of the dining/living room side of the house, and adding more windows in the exterior corner of the living room!

Now, on to pictures of the land, and some of the work we've been doing there. There's been some cutting down trees and scrubby little saplings and underbrush. We've acquired another tool - in addition to the chainsaw, we needed what we've been calling "The Brushwhacker" - a Stihl Kombi, that we bought from a guy in southern VT.

The difference in the foliage, as well as ground cover, from several weeks ago is huge! We're definitely going to be doing some selective view-enhancing tree-elimination.

From sparce post-winter bare trees, to the lush green of late spring. Those hills across the lake sure disappeared quickly!

In May, my dad visited us, and camped on the land, in the rain, as well as spending some time hauling brush, and working on the house site. He took the following five pictures, and gave instructions for them to go up on the blog - so here they are!

This small pile of wood is one of my favorite pictures - the beginnings of firewood!

This stump sits out on the top of a hill, that we have christened "The Point".

This morning, I went out to visit the town clerk, and discuss some particulars about zoning. After figuring out what I needed to know, I went and visited the land and Greenwood Lake. (The green green picture above is from today, as well)

It was a lovely day to sit by the water down where the road turns into a dead end.
