Update!

Last weekend, a friend of Dave's family came up to visit, so we had brunch and went out to the land. I still can't get over the fact that 6.3 acres of woods are ours.

 

Here are the guys - Mark, Joe, and David, out by the edge of the house site. 

Other updates: 

We met with our dirt contractor a few weeks ago, that was great! We're really looking forward to getting our garden in, if the dirt work is done in time to plant. 

We've officially chosen a builder, and they're working on doing the final drawings, after which we move on to making choices about flooring and all the other things we need to make decisions about! 

There will be some definite similarities between this house, and my grandparents house in Maine, which we called The Lake. I think I'm most looking forward to having a deck - some of my fondest memories are of curling up in an Adirondack chair with a blanket and a book on early spring days, when the sun was out, but it was still too chilly and windy to be out without a jacket!
